World Nordic Walking Day 2026

10 cool things to try wherever you are in the world

Nordic Walkers, this is your day!

Wherever you are on the planet, grab your poles, head outside, and celebrate movement, nature, and connection. World Nordic Walking Day is a chance to do something a little different, try something new, and be part of a global community all moving together.

Here are 10 simple ideas to inspire your walk. Pick one, try a few, or build your own challenge:

1. Walk somewhere new

Explore a trail, park, coastline or city route you’ve never Nordic Walked before.

2. Walk to your rhythm

Create a playlist and match your pace to the beat. It’s a simple way to lift energy and motivation.

3. Capture your moment

Take a photo or short video from your walk—action shots, landscapes or group moments all count.

4. Chase the light

Head out at sunrise or sunset and enjoy a completely different walking experience.

5. Bring someone new

Introduce a friend, family member or colleague to Nordic Walking. A short taster is all it takes.

6. Notice nature

Slow down and take in your surroundings. Look for wildlife, changing seasons or small details you might normally miss.

7. Make it fun

Add a playful twist—colour themes, group challenges or anything that makes people smile.

8. Add a challenge

Increase your distance, include hills, or try intervals to push yourself a little further.

9. Walk and reward

Plan a café stop, picnic or simple treat at the end of your walk.

10. Share the experience

Post your photos or videos and connect with Nordic Walkers around the world.

World Nordic Walking Day is about more than just walking—it’s about community, wellbeing and sharing the experience globally.

If you’re ready to take part, find your nearest session or instructor and join in.

Share your day using #WorldNordicWalkingDay and be part of the global movement.
