The International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) welcomes a new partnership between Republic Polytechnic and Nordic Kinetic Asia Holdings (NKAH) to support the development of Nordic Walking in Singapore through education, instructor training and research.

The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 23 October 2026, establishing a framework for collaboration that will create new opportunities to learn, teach and develop Nordic Walking in Singapore.

Through the partnership, the School of Sports and Health at Republic Polytechnic will become NKAH’s education partner in Singapore, in time delivering the full range of INWA Education courses.

The programme will provide a range of training and certification opportunities, including Nordic Walking Instructor, Nordic Walking for Children and Teens, plus Race Offical courses. This will help create clear pathways for people wishing to develop their skills, become instructors or take on more advanced roles within the sport.

The collaboration will also explore how artificial intelligence and other technologies can contribute to Nordic Walking research and innovation, with a focus on improving training, performance and participation.

Beyond Nordic Walking education, the partnership will offer opportunities for Republic Polytechnic students and staff to become involved in the development of the sport. These include student internships and final-year projects, academic awards and scholarships, and opportunities for teaching staff to gain experience through professional attachments.

Republic Polytechnic is a Singapore institution of higher learning that offers practice-based education across a range of disciplines, including sports and health.

Nordic Kinetic Asia Holdings is a Singapore-based company dedicated to developing and promoting Nordic Walking across Asia and is an Associate Member of the International Nordic Walking Federation,.
