The 8th Japanese Nordic Fitness Forum (NFF) was held in Gamagoori, Aichi, Japan on 28th and 29th November 2015. Gamagoori is positioned in the center of Japan and faces the Pacific Ocean. JNFA; Japan Nordic Fitness Association are the National Country Member for Japan authorized by INWA. NFF, (Nordic Fitness Sports Festival), is hosted by the executive committee of NFF, constructed from the members of JNFA. This forum has been held once a year in different places in Japan. The following document is a report celebrating NNF successes in 2015.
The purpose Japan Nordic Fitness Forum (NFF) was to give a wider view of Nordic Sports such as Nordic Walking, Nordic Skiing, Nordic Snow Shoeing, and Nordic Blading etc., through participation of those activities NFF wanted to highlight the positive results for all those participating in these sports: A healthier life style and contribute to personal well-being resulting in developing happiness.
The content NFF was as follows:
1) The opening of NFF.
2) The introduction of the course of history of JNFA lectured by Mochiyoshi Miura, an honorary president of JNFA (30 min).
3) International standard of Nordic Walking, lectured by Naohiro Takahashi, IC of INWA (30 min).
4) Communication technique of speaking using pep talk, lectured by Yoshizumi Iwasaki, President of Japan Pep Talk Association (60 min).
5) The introduction of health exercises (60 min) such as a) stretching using stretch pole lectured by Naoko Nakamura, b) boubikusu (exercises with wooden pole) lectured by Emiko Sato, and c) piratis lectured by Akiko Hattori.
About 200 people participated in those lectures.
In the opening ceremony of NFF, I introduced the fact that JNFA was publicity recognized by INWA as superior National Federation in INWA Convention Oct. 2015, Barcelona, Spain. Moreover, JNFA gave the certificate of commendation to Mochiyoshi
NFF interpersonal party (2 hours). About 150 people participated NFF interpersonal party was held in Gamagoori Classic Hotel. This party was a huge success with lively events; the local team of Gamagoori dramatically directed Japanese drum, traditional music, and dances with native dress. All participants danced and also enjoyed tasty foods and beer, wine, and some drinks.
About 400 hundred people participated in Nordic Walking all morning. They were divided into 18 groups and walked 3 km, 5 km, or 7 km depending on their standard or requirements. Everyone walked with smiles in the brisk wind along the Atlantic Ocean coastline with a fantastic backdrop of hills. On completion the local community provided Japanese noodle. Presentations concluded the day with prizes of NW poles and local foods.
NFF has been a success every year to date and this years is not an exception. This event is an opportunity to expand the knowledge of NW and bring together the friends of Nordic Walking creating a platform for communication, friendship and knowledge. This is a big asset for the members of JNFA.
