The INWA International Education Committee

The International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA) has established an education committee which is responsible for the total development and guarantee of quality of the international and national-level education programs for International Coaches, Coaches, Master Instructors, Instructors and Activity Leaders.

This International Education Committee is composed of International Coaches from different countries. These International Coaches all have a wealth of experience as a Coach, have their backgrounds in education, sports, sports medicine and health related fitness. The International Education Committee has course manuals for Nordic Walking Coaches, Instructors and Activity Leaders. These English manuals can be translated into national languages by the national-level Nordic Walking Associations. The International Education Committee also develops other educational materials e.g. PowerPoint presentations, brochures, certificates, licenses etc. Furthermore, the International Education Committee advises the INWA board concerning decisions about educational matters.

INWA International Coaches

An International Coach is a health and fitness professional who is responsible for the quality of Nordic Walking to Coaches. She/he is highly experienced in education of Coaches. The International Coach has the vision how INWA should promote Nordic Walking internationally and nationally as a sport and health and fitness related activity.

INWA National Coach

An INWA  National Coach is a health and fitness professional who is responsible for the high quality education of Nordic Walking to Master Instructors, Instructors and Guides. INWA National Coaches are educated by the INWA International Coaches.

INWA Education on national level

In each INWA member country, a National Nordic Walking Association (NNWA) is appointed. This organisation selects in co-operation with the INWA Coaches those, who will be educated by the International Coaches.
 

INWA Master Instructor

An INWA Nordic Walking Master Instructor has to apply for this function at the National Nordic Walking Association (=NNWA) and must have a long practical experience as an Instructor. A Master Instructor has certain qualities that can be of great value for the NNWA and INWA and has vision to develop Nordic Walking nationally.

INWA Instructor

An INWA Nordic Walking Instructor is a health and fitness professional responsible for teaching people the Nordic Walking technique to the public in a responsible and well-balanced way. The INWA Nordic Walking Instructor informs the public about the benefits of the sport/fitness exercise as well as the products related to Nordic Walking.

INWA Guide

An INWA Nordic Walking Guide is a person who leads Nordic Walking groups that have experienced training in Nordic Walking in co-operation with a Nordic Walking Instructor. She/he does not teach Nordic Walking but can inform of the basics of Nordic Walking. An INWA Nordic Walking Guide also carries out promotion for Nordic Walking.
